Want To Audition For Wilsonville High School Theatre’s The Little Mermaid next fall?
Wilsonville High School students who can sing, act, or dance (even better if you can do all three at the same time)
When & Where?
The first week of school in September in the Black Box Theater and auditorium after school
Because you want to be in the fall musical and you can commit to rehearsals after school from 3:30 – 6:30, even longer rehearsals two weeks prior to opening and you will not miss any performance dates
Step One: The Vocal Audition
Prepare 32 bars of a solo song – it should be from a Disney musical other than The Little Mermaid – and bring sheet music for the pianist or a karaoke track on your phone
Step Two: The Dance Audition
Come to dance auditions wearing sneakers and comfortable workout clothes, no preparation is needed, but dance experience is a plus
Step Three: Callbacks
Selected singers and dancers will be called back for reading auditions
The cast list will be posted by the end of the week.
The Little Mermaid will be performed over two weekends in November 2017 on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. You must be available for all performances, dress rehearsals and rehearsals throughout the fall.
We expect the show to be your first priority, so participation is not recommended for those playing sports or doing other time-consuming after-school activities. Technical positions will also be available and those time-commitments are shorter-term but no less important. If you have questions about auditioning, ask Mr. Katz (firstname.lastname@example.org). If you are interested in teching, speak to Mr. Fitzgerald (email@example.com).
If you are interested in participating in the theatre department at Wilsonville High School, you are encouraged to join the Drama Club. Info will be presented at club day orientation. Next year, we will have three mainstage shows (one musical and two plays), participate in Thespian Regional and State competitions, which will be showcased, and mount several one acts, which will also be showcased. New students are always welcome.
Have a great summer!
